Accessibility in the classroom ensures that all students, regardless of their abilities or disabilities, are able to fully participate in their education. There are many ways to make a classroom more accessible, including providing materials in multiple formats (such as electronic or audio), using clear and concise language, and creating a physically accessible space. By making accessibility a priority in the classroom, higher education institutions can create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. As instructors, we can also work with students with disabilities to address any specific accessibility needs they may have. This interactive session will address multiple needs, including articulating the importance of disability inclusion in higher education, identifying accessibility and inclusion resources on and off campus, and navigating the implementation of accommodations.
