COGS Social Media Study Break – 12/14-12/18
Brainstorming ways to succeed during this finals season? Want to be entered in a drawing for a $25 e-gift card for sharing your tips with other grad & professional students?
There are many ways to set oneself up for success through healthy, mindful practice. This may take the form of having relaxing tunes to listen to while working or taking a moment to reflect on your favorite pet. By sharing the strategies that work for you, you will be entered into a drawing for an e-gift card from the below list of local and national companies. We hope you can use these gift cards to support your mental wellness with self-care products like coffee or a yummy meal.
To be eligible, respond to that day’s prompt by commenting/posting a picture on one of our social media pages. If you do, you will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card, your choice from the below list. Each day at 8:30 pm, we will use a random list generator to select 3 winners (1 across each platform: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). Winners will be notified by reply and asked to email the office at office@cogs.msu with their name, MSU email address, and preferred gift card option. office will verify your grad/professional student status because you must be a current grad/professional student to win.
NOTE TO INSTAGRAM USERS: If you have an account that is set to private and we don’t follow you, we may NOT be able see photos you post, even if you tag us (@cogsmsu or #COGS). If that is the case, please comment “follow me” in the comment section of our post (such as cute pet Wednesday). That way we know to follow you so we can see your tag.

MSU Offers COVID-19 Departure Screening and Testing
In advance of fall break, MSU is offering free, voluntary saliva-based departure screening and testing Nov. 15-22 for on- and off-campus students, as well as faculty and staff. MSU strongly encourages students, faculty and staff who are traveling to sign up on the program registration link.
Please note this is not a diagnostic test, so you will receive a recommendation to seek clinical confirmation testing if COVID-19 is detected in your sample.
Due to limited lab capacity, testing dates may fill up, so please sign up as soon as possible.
Remember, any form of testing reflects your COVID-19 status at the time your sample was collected. That’s why it’s vital to stay vigilant and continue to practice safe behaviors, such as:
- Continue preventive health measures, including wearing a face mask, maintaining physical distancing, washing your hands frequently and avoiding large gatherings.
- Practice an enhanced physical distancing period for 14 days before you leave East Lansing.
- Quarantine for 14 days upon arrival at your destination.
Please visit: https://msu.edu/together-we-will/testing-reporting/departure-program-faq.html for more information on how to participate.
