In this webinar we discuss a variety of topics around how Humanities graduate students are particularly well-equipped to pursue careers in modern data-related fields, and how advanced degree holders can learn the skills necessary to move into this lucrative and growing field. Topics include: necessary skills for getting a data job, typical day-to-day working in data science, how to prepare for an interview for a data job, how to use ChatGPT and other AI code assistants to accelerate job readiness and the specific value Humanities students contribute to data roles.
About our speaker:Trevor Nyman is a former PhD student (Northwestern, Philosophy) turned data scientist. He's worked in a data science capacity in tech, education, retail/CPG and the non-profit space. His journey from the Humanities to data science motivates him to help people coming from non-traditional backgrounds to prepare for careers in fields leveraging quantitative data.
This is a one-hour webinar exclusively for graduate students at Michigan State, University of Iowa, and Northwestern University. A webinar link will be sent a few days before the event.
