CALL FOR SPEAKERS
1 idea. 5 minutes. 20 slides. 15-second auto-advance. Can you do it?
The MSU Museum CoLab Studio is looking for ten passionate MSU students to each give an Ignite talk on their research! You can be any type or level of student, doing a project in any field of research. Ignite talks are a creative way to communicate an idea in 5 minutes flat, using only 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. We want speakers who will inspire connection with the audience as they have fun learning something new. Previous public speaking or stage experience is not required! All selected speakers will participate in a research communication workshop prior to the big day, to help them hone their story to really ignite the audience.
Note: January 24th is the last day to submit for a talk.

Abigail (Abby) Waller from CAPS Connect is back in 1312c BPS, starting this semester – EVERY MONDAY, from 9:00am – 11:00am for ½ hour visits!
For those of you who don’t already know, this is FREE to all levels of students (see below)
CAPS Connect consists of in-person confidential meetings (up to 30 mins in length) that are intended to provide students with brief and accessible support/advice. Walk-ins are available Mondays from 9-11:00am, but can also be made in advance,, up to an hour before the appointment time. CAPS Connect might be helpful for the student who is a little wary of counseling due to stigma or cultural expectations/values. It is a nice way to meet a mental health professional without committing to anything. If a student already knows they need counseling/psychiatric services, it is best for them to sign up for an initial consultation with CAPS online (https://caps.msu.edu/schedule/) rather than use CAPS Connect.
To schedule a meeting @ https://caps.msu.edu/services/CAPSConnect.html or via the QR code that will be on the office door EVERY MONDAY!
