This interactive session is designed to help Graduate Teaching Assistants develop teaching practices that foster authentic learning experiences. Participants will explore strategies for managing students’ cognitive load when teaching advanced concepts, understanding higher education learning contexts, and implementing collaborative learning techniques.

Learning Goals

Design learning environments that acknowledge and respect student experiences.
Apply collaborative learning strategies that engage students authentically with course content.
Implement teaching practices that balance knowledge-centered and learner-centered approaches.
Develop techniques for creating multiple entry points for student engagement.

Are you having a hard time getting things off your to do list? Would you benefit from a dedicated space and being around others to find motivation and productivity? If so, please join us in a structured community space for supporting goal achievement. We will start at 1pm with a brief time of connecting and sharing goals. We will then have two sessions of about 50 minutes where everyone will work on their individual goals with a 10-minute break in between. You can come for one or both sessions or just stop in at any point. We will offer a hybrid option upon request.
