    The Graduate School invites you to an intensive progr am that will help fulfill the workshop portion of the requirements for the MSU CCTP. Over the course of two days, featured speakers will discuss te aching with technology, assessing student learning outcomes, creating ef fective learning environments, and developing teaching portfolios for dif ferent kinds of academic institutions. Through a combination of interactiv e group sessions and focused breakouts, you will gain skills in core comp etency areas of the Certification, plan a mentored teaching project, and develop the template for your final teaching portfolio. You will also lea rn about resources available to support your professional development in t eaching from other units at Michigan State, including the Office for Incl usion and Intercultural Initiatives, the Academic Advancement Network and the Hub for Innovation in Learning and Technology.

    The Certificati on is designed for doctoral students, MMs, MFAs and postdocs preparing t o become faculty members in a college or university. The CCTP culminates i n the preparation of an e-portfolio that will help participants prepare fo r academic job interviews and plan for their professional development as e arly career faculty. Graduate students who successfully complete all requi rements will receive a designation of the Certification on their MSU trans cript; postdocs receive a letter from the provost recognizing their compl etion of the CCTP. Registration is required and participants must attend b oth days of the institute.
