CAS and WKAR Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration!
The College of Communication Arts and Sciences and WKAR Public Media invites the MSU community to engage in a day of reflection, learning, and celebration in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday, October 14, 2024. This day is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating Indigenous peoples’ rich histories, cultures, and contributions.
There will be two events:
- Honoring Heritage: A Dialogue on Understanding Native American Cultures at 10:00 AM on Zoom.
- This virtual program will be guided community conversation led by Dr. Blaire Morseau, assistant professor in Religious Studies, and Dr. Emily Sorroche Associate Director in the CANR Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion.

- Celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day with Nokomis Cultural Center from12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at WKAR Studios A located at 404 Wilson Drive.
- This program will include an indigenous prayer, native food, and a presentation on the preservation of the History, Culture, Arts, and Language of the Anishinaabe people of the Great Lakes Region.
