World Cinema Mini-Film Festival Coming to Wells Hall
DATE: February 19-21m 2025 – This festival will showcase critically acclaimed films from around the globe, with the aim of sparking dialogue about international film cultures, aesthetics, and histories.
All films take place in B-122 Wells Hall at 7PM:
- Wednesday, February 19, 7:00 PM: The Seed of the Sacred Fig (2024) by Mohammad Rasoulof.
This film has won prestigious accolades, including the Cannes Grand Prix, FIPRESCI Prize, Jury Prize, and François Chalais Prize. It is Germany’s official submission for the Academy Awards’ Best International Feature Film and a BAFTA nominee for Best Non-English Film. - Thursday, February 20, 7 PM: Blood of the Condor (1969) by Jorge Sanjinés and Ghale (Women’s Quarter, 1966) by Kamran Shirdel.
This screening is organized in collaboration with Dr. Pedro Doreste’s film collective. - Friday, February 21, 7 PM: Far From Home (1975) by Sohrab Shahid Saless.
Dr. Kaveh Askari will introduce the film, offering insights into its historical and cinematic significance.
