Here is a little more about the program:
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and acts as a seasonal membership to the farm. In exchange for a weekly share of incredibly fresh, tasty, organic produce, members of the Student Organic Farm CSA are also directly supporting transformational learning opportunities to MSU students.
At the beginning of each season, our CSA members pay in advance for a weekly share of vegetables from the farm. This model benefits the farm’s cash-flow and allows us to purchase the supplies needed to produce our crops in some of the tightest months of the year. Members receive a variety of produce each week, which exposes them to new vegetables they may not otherwise experience. We are able to curate shares based on what is abundant any given week. We keep records to ensure our members receive the value of what they paid for at the start of the season.
We offer a drive-through distribution on the Farm, as well as a pick-up on Campus in front of Bailey Greenhouse. Both options are low-contact methods developed last year to minimize any Covid risk. We are also able to arrange for a drop off to offices, sorority or fraternity houses, as well as local residences if there is group of 5 or more members interested in picking up there.
