COGS Wraps up COVID-19 Working Remotely Technology Awards
June 2021 —
From spring of 2020 – end of Spring semester 2021, COGS provided over $15,000 in funding to assist graduate/professional students with expenses related to remote working technology. The COGS Working Remotely Technology Awards helped hundreds of students defray up to $50 worth of expenses related to the sudden change to remote learning, teaching and working. COGS funds were used to subsidize expenses such as software, webcams, headphones, and other technology needs related to virtual academic needs. Additionally, COGS moved to make it easier to use conference funding towards non-refundable travel costs and cancellation fees or remote conference fees, when the shutdown began. COGS continues to help advocate for and assist graduate and professional students as we navigate through ever more complex transitions.
