The Council of Graduate Students has funding available to graduate and professional students. All requests submitted past the deadline for applications will not be considered. COGS will not fund an event after it has taken place. NO Exceptions!
Graduate Student Organization EVENT FUNDING
All Remaining Spring 2013 Event Funding Applications and new Summer 2013 Events Funding Applications are due by 5:00pm on Friday, April 5, 2013. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. Once funds allocated for funding requests are depleted, no more requests will be granted. NOTE: All applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the full council meeting of the month prior to your event. A list of full council meeting dates can be found here MEETINGS NEW, COGS WILL NOW FUND FOOD FOR YOUR EVENT UP TO $150.00!

CONFERENCE Grants
We are no longer accepting Spring 2013 Conference Grants. Deadline for Summer 2013 semester applications (for conference dates 5/13/13 - 8/27/13) is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013. The maximum amount awarded is $300.00. All graduate and professional students are limited to one COGS Conference Grant during their MSU academic career.

COGS Disciplinary Leadership Award

In 2010, the MSU Council of Graduate Students (COGS) established an endowment to recognize disciplinary leadership by graduate and grad-professional students. The Graduate School provides additional funds (2011-2015) to increase the number of awards as this initiative begins. Graduate students regularly (not provisionally or lifelong) enrolled in a graduate or grad-professional program at MSU and who are in good standing in their programs may apply for the COGS Disciplinary Leadership Award.

Accepting this award may affect any federal loans that you have.
COGS Childcare Endowment
Graduate students who would like to apply for COGS Childcare Endowment should check the box on the MSU Childcare Grant Application indicating your interest in being considered for these funds. The Office of Financial Aid will contact you in the fall with further information regarding the status and availability of funds through this program.

NEW: COGS GSO Support Funding
Each Department may apply for GSO Support Funding once per fiscal year (July 1st – June 30th). Funding will only be granted for an eligible meeting and eligible expenses. Eligible expenses include: publicity materials, meeting room fees, refreshments during meeting, and materials needed during an eligible meeting. Eligible expenses do not include the purchase of alcoholic beverages, travel expenses, lodging costs, and non-meeting related goods and services. COGS, in its sole discretion, will make all decisions regarding eligibility of items. Applicants must submit an estimated budget for the eligible meeting (the budget can exceed $50, however $50 is the maximum reimbursement).
